Bakers Quay, Gloucester

Barnwood successfully completed the development of Bakers Quay in Gloucester. Works included the development of the Docks Cottages, 47 new apartments within Provender Mill and a new Premier Inn building.
The Docks cottages were four existing dilapidated shells which were completely redesigned, refurbished and rebuilt to provide four new 4 bedroom, 3 storey townhouses with courtyard gardens. The finish was to a high standard and specification.

Provender Mill was built on the site of the original mill which was burned down by arsonists in 2015. The original remains had to be demolished and a completely new structure was built. Provender Mill contains 47 apartments, a mixture of 1-bedroom apartments and 2 bedroom duplexes. They are served by a central staircase and lift. The ground floor is the location of the main reception along with three retail unit shells.

Premier Inn is a 104-bedroom, steel frame and concrete slab to second floor. From there it was timber frame construction up to and including the roof. The building has brickwork outer skin to first floor and is clad in Alucobond rainscreen cladding above this. The roof is a powder coated Kalzip with PV panels to the South side of the building. Premier Inn have very high standards and we are proud to say that we met these on time and within budget.
