Advanced Laboratory Research Facilities
Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre
This newly constructed facility offers expanded office spaces and advanced laboratory research areas, complemented by state-of-the-art clean room environments, and a robust back-up generator system for reliable operational continuity.
The project was a two-storey stand-alone addition to an existing laboratory facility, linked at first floor over an access road by a 40-metre link bridge. To accommodate this new link bridge, the existing building was reconfigured by relocating a freezer room to form the new corridor access, allowing spacious and free-flowing navigation between the two areas.
The programme involved the demolition of an existing office building and the further challenge of a relocation of the main substation as enabling works to the main project.
We were delighted that the design and our sustainability work resulted in the project achieving BREEAM Excellent.
