Modern, High-Quality Workspace – Milton Park, Oxfordshire
The Bee House – Milton Park, Oxfordshire
Barnwood are proud to have played an important role in the construction and fit out of Building 140 at Milton Park in Oxfordshire for our client MEPC. All three Barnwood divisions worked closely together to develop a modern, high-quality workspace, known as the Bee House.
The main phase of the project was completed by our Construction division. Works consisted of new mechanical and electrical installations throughout; the creation of serviced offices and conference facilities; new wall, floor, and ceiling finishes throughout; fixtures and fittings to the café, break out areas and tea points; and the refurbishment of the two-storey car park. Works were also carried out to the external landscaping within the building’s site boundary, to enhance the local area.
Working closely alongside the project team, our Shopfitting & Interiors division carried out the design and install of the bespoke joinery for the project. Works consisted of the supply and install of upholstered banquette seating to co working areas, birch ply panelling to the main atrium, Z lockers to changing areas, tea point serving counters on each floor, and the creation of a main feature reception counter to the spacious entrance lobby.
Our General Works division also worked closely with the project team to successfully install a structural waterproofing system. The basement is sub-terranean – retaining high external ground levels – using Newton 403 Hydrobond waterproof membrane combined with Newton 107F cementitious waterproof membrane and Newton 315 Waterbar – all compliant to BS8102.
